Quick Decisions Unit 11

The two sisters took a decision on the spur of the moment.

When the boys from Ayllon walked up to them and asked them to dance, both girls knew they had to make up their minds. That afternoon, they had sat and chatted about these boys and how they felt about them. They thought they were good looking and friendly, but they hadn’t been able to come to a conclusion about their real feelings towards them.

Now, both sisters forgot what they had felt for the boys earlier on and realised they had to make their choice there and then. They looked at each other and then at the boys, and at each other once again.  Both seemed to sense what the other was thinking. Yes, the boys had cars, but was that a good enough reason to fall for them? The eyes of many had been on them all night but now the entire village was staring at them in a hushed silence.  Even the musicians seemed to think that something was about to happen, and they felt they had to do something.  They stopped playing the stomping, summer sound and struck up a slow, smoochy song.

The two sisters ignored the outstretched hands of the Ayllon boys and walked right passed them into the arms of the brothers from Grado del Pico.  The entire village seemed to think that this was the moment they had to do something.  And they did.  In unison, they burst into applause, until their hands got sore and they had to stop clapping.

That was the beginning of a romance that had to be, but how did it end……..?
